HCR Employees Almost Strike It Lucky

03 March 2010

On Wednesday 24th February employees sponsored by HCR took part in the Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane’s charity annual bowling event at Bowlplex on the Basingstoke Leisure Park.

The event proved to be a striking success, with teams representing organisations from across the local area coming together to support the Mayor’s Charity fund. The event raised in total more than £3,000 with the Haiti support fund selected as the supported charity.

HCR was represented at the event by 24 employees forming four teams. With a record breaking 46 teams taking part in the competition, HCR employees had a battle on their hands. While none of the HCR teams managed to win the competition, the HCR IT team did come close. The team were leading at the half way point, but were sadly pipped to the post and ended up in a very respectable third place overall. The same could not be said for the other HCR teams, who ranked further down the table - 17th, 29th, and 38th.

Commenting on his team almost winning the competition HCR IT Manager, Guy McIntyre commented “We are thrilled to have come third out of such a high number of teams, none of us were taking part with the aim to win the event; it was just the chance for us and the company to support a local event raising money for charity, while also having fun”
